Profile: Vicki Match Suna, AIA, Vice Dean and SVP, Real Estate Development and Facilities

Vicki Match Suna, AIA, Senior Vice President and Vice Dean for Real Estate Development and Facilities, oversees the development and management of NYU Langone Medical Center’s real estate portfolio of over 6 million square feet. Her responsibilities include the Divisions of Real Estate, Planning, Design & Construction, Housing Services, and Facilities Operations and Management.

Her primary focus currently is leading the implementation of the Medical Center’s Campus Transformation, an initiative that will position the institution as a world class, patient-centered integrated  academic medical center. The Campus Transformation includes the construction of The Helen L. and Martin S. Kimmel Pavilion, a new state-of-the-art acute care hospital; upgrading and transforming Tisch Hospital; a new Science Building to foster growth in medical research, and the expansion of ambulatory care services in facilities outside of the main campus.

In her previous role as Vice Dean and Senior Vice President for Real Estate & Strategic Capital Initiatives, Ms. Match Suna was responsible for strategic capital planning throughout NYU Langone Medical Center. As Project Executive, she also oversaw the development of the award-winning Joel & Joan Smilow Research Center.

Ms. Match Suna is a Registered Architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). She served as a Commissioner on the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission for 15 years and on the Board of the New York City Economic Development Corporation for three years. She is a member of the New York Society of Health Planning (NYSHP) and a member of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), where she served on the Group on Institutional Planning (GIP) and the professional development committee. She was also recently named to the board of the New York Building Congress.

She was an honoree of the NYC Commission on the Status of Women and the recipient of the Art Trek Award from the Queens Council on the Arts. In 2010, Ms. Match Suna received the Center for Architecture Award from the New York Chapter of AIA and the Center for Architecture.

Prior to joining NYU Langone Medical Center in 1994, Ms. Match Suna was an Associate Partner at Lee Harris Pomeroy Associates. Her previous experience includes directing the NYC office of Payette Associates, and positions at Ellerbe Architects & Engineers, SMP Architects and Perkins & Will. She holds a Masters Degree in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
