Vice Dean and SVP Real Estate Development and Facilities

Vicki Match Suna joined New York University Medical Center in 1994 and has held numerous positions related to real estate development, campus planning and design since that time. In her current role as Vice Dean and Senior Vice President for Real Estate Development & Facilities, Ms. Match Suna is the Senior Executive responsible for the development and management of the NYU Medical Center real estate portfolio. NYU Langone Medical Center has a mixed use real estate portfolio of over 4.5 Million SF comprised of NYU School of Medicine, NYU Hospitals Center and the Hospital for Joint Diseases properties. 

Ms. Match Suna oversees the Divisions of Real Estate, Planning, Design & Construction, Housing Services, as well as Facilities Operations and Management at the Medical Center. As Project Executive, Ms. Match Suna spearheaded the award-winning 230,000 GSF Joel & Joan Smilow Research Center which opened in 2006.

Currently, she is responsible for overall Medical Center campus development and is overseeing the development of a new Campus Master Plan and planning efforts related to the new Kimmel Pavilion and Tisch Hospital Refurbishment. In addition, she is responsible for the development for numerous ambulatory care sites, new student and faculty housing, and the new home of the NYU School of Nursing. Past initiatives have included the Strategic Development & Planning for the Research Facilities Master Plan; the Planning & Implementation of Departmental Master Plans across the Medical Center; and the planning for the East River Science Park Site which led to the zoning modification that currently permits development in the biosciences on a portion of the former Bellevue campus.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Ms. Match Suna holds Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Masters in Architecture (M Arch) Degrees from Washington University in St. Louis. She is a Registered Architect in New York State and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), currently serving on the LPC Exhibition Advisory Committee. She served as a Commissioner on the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission for 15 years, from 1991-2006. She is a member of the New York Society of Health Planning (NYSHP) and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), Group on Institutional Planning (GIP) and has served on the professional development and information management committees. She is also an Advisory Board Member for the Louis Armstrong House, and the Governors Island Preservation & Education Corporation and was recently appointed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, to serve on the Board of the NYC Economic Development Corporation.  She was an honoree of the NYC Commission on the Status of Women and the recipient of the Art Trek Award from the Queens Council on the Arts. 

Prior to joining NYU Medical Center, Ms. Match Suna was an Associate Partner at Lee Harris Pomeroy Associates. Her previous experience includes directing the NYC office of Payette Associates, positions at Ellerbe Architects & Engineers, SMP Architects and Perkins & Will. She has designed numerous health care related and academic facilities for clinical activities, research and other uses. Her work has included new construction, renovations, adaptations and conversions of existing buildings in the New York City Metropolitan area.
