CAMPUS TRANSFORMATION: New Science Building
Like other major components of the Campus Transformation, the New Science Building will expand upon the Medical Center’s existing strengths—in this case translational research concentrating in the neurosciences and immunology, inflammation and infection.
The planned facility, to be positioned at the southernmost end of the Superblock, will organize research resources and services strategically so that investigators, students, faculty and clinicians can all work more efficiently and collaboratively. It will also serve as a major gateway to areas of the Medical Center devoted primarily to education and research.
Critically, the expansive New Science Building will enable the School of Medicine to accommodate new recruits and projected growth in funded research. The building is expected to be completed in late 2015.
