Employee and Faculty Housing

NYU Langone Medical Center leadership is aware of the role housing plays in sustaining the mission of our institution, and Housing Services strives to be a housing resource for medical center faculty and staff. The office works closely with the academic departments, the Faculty Council, deans, and senior leadership at the medical center to maintain transparent eligibility requirements in order to fairly allocate this scarce resource. With high demand and limited supply, however, housing remains a challenge.

In order to be eligible to apply for housing, your employment status must be full-time and compensated and in one of the categories below:

• Nurse
• House Staff/Clinical Fellow
• Basic Science Post Doctoral Fellow
• Faculty

Eligibility must be maintained in order to apply for or remain in medical center housing. Should your employment status or position change, you would be required to vacate within 30 days. An assignment offer will be based upon availability, date of application, family size, and the occupancy guidelines for the apartment.

If we are unable to make you a housing offer or if our availability does not satisfy your housing needs, we would be happy to assist you further by referring you to a broker who has a relationship with NYU and discounts commissions for NYU affiliates.
