Sackler Graduate Students

Housing Services works with the Sackler Dean’s office to coordinate housing offers for incoming students that apply for housing. Housing Services is responsible for overseeing housing applications, assignments, and housing licenses ("leases"). Repairs and maintenance in the residential buildings are performed by building staff under the supervision of a property management team.

Housing applications, rents, and other information for newly-accepted students will be made available on this webpage.

As a new student, you have priority for housing. Students who opt to decline housing for their first year will be offered housing if availability permits. We would urge an accepted student to submit a housing application to Housing Services as early as possible. Students sign housing licenses for one year at a time. These are renewable as long as the student remains eligible. Non-graduating students have an annual option to terminate their housing licenses as of June 30, as long as the appropriate advance written notice is provided.

Each year there is usually an announcement of a housing transfer opportunity. The process allows eligible continuing students to apply to move to available vacancies. Priority for transfers is given to students who have experienced a qualifying event, such as the birth of a child, new marriage or partnership, etc.

Please note that neither smoking nor pets are permitted in NYU School of Medicine student housing.

Sackler students are required to have their monthly rent deducted from their stipend payments. Rent accounts, payroll deduction, refunds, etc. are handled by a Finance and Administration staff. If you have questions about these matters, write to redf.finance@nyumc.org.

For additional information and policies, see the tabs on the left side of this page.

The Housing Office is located at 339 East 28 Street (between First and Second Avenues), New York, NY 10016. If you have any questions about applying for housing, your license, or vacating, e-mail us at housing@nyumc.org.
