Featured Projects
The Real Estate Development and Facilities (RED+F) department typically has well over 100 projects under way in various stages of progress at any given time.
They involve NYU Langone Medical Center facilities located on the Superblock campus -- which refers to the Medical Center's largest concentration of buildings between 30th Street and 34th Street, and First Avenue and the FDR Drive in Manhattan -- as well as many other locations in the surrounding neighborhood. (The map above left shows the breadth of the Medical Center's existing facilities in the vicinity of midtown Manhattan.) RED+F's reach also extends to NYU Langone operations further south and north in Manhattan, as well as in the outer boroughs of New York City and even beyond.
This ever-changing, and expanding, portfolio of ongoing projects ranges from small gut renovations of administrative, clinical, education or research spaces to complex infrastructure upgrades and even the major construction of new buildings. However, all RED+F activities share common characteristics that include:
- Ensuring that the overall quality of environment reflects the Medical Center's vision of being a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center
- Fostering balance and integration of space needs and optimizing utilization across all areas
- Creating partnerships at all levels of the organization
- Striving to set clear goals at the initiation of every project that align with larger organizational strategic goals
Below are links to a representative sampling of significant RED+F projects, classified either as Recently Completed or in various stages of Design & Construction. Please explore these resources to learn more about how the physical landscape of NYU Langone Medical Center is constantly improving to meet the needs of its patients, visitors, students, clinicians and staff.
In addition, a current driving force of many of RED+F's activities now and for the balance of this decade is the Campus Transformation, a series of major new constructions, renovations and expansions that is dramatically reshaping the Medical Center, and will position it to be able to grow and innovate for decades to come. You'll find more information about the Campus Transformation here.
